Scholarships Available in Special Education Beginning January 2008

You may qualify for a tuition scholarship and other financial support to earn your bachelor’s degree in Exceptional Student Education. Through a grant from the Department of Education - Project SUCCEED - Barry University is able to greatly reduce the cost of the program for a select group of students.

Do you have:

  • a desire to teach and make a difference in the lives of students with disabilities?
  • an Associate of Arts (AA) degree or equivalent (sixty credits or more)?
  • a Grade Point Average of 2.5 or higher?

If so, you may qualify for one of the 15 tuition scholarships (80%) being offered for the class beginning in January 2008. If you qualify for other types of financial aid (such as the Florida Fund for Minority Teachers or the Federal Pell Grant), your degree might be totally free!

Barry’s undergraduate ESE program can be completed by working adults in a two year period by attending classes in the evenings and on Saturdays. At the end of two years, you will have earned:

  • a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Exceptional Student Education.
  • endorsements in ESOL and Reading.
  • eligibility for Florida professional teaching certification, enabling you to begin a job as a highly qualified teacher of special education students.

Join the Barry family and experience small classes and individual advising. To find out if Barry is where you belong, ask a question, schedule a visit, or, if you are ready, fill out the online application. Classes begin in January 2008, so don’t delay!
