Choice of Majors
Excellent Field Experience. Many of the courses you will take involve field experience in nearby public and accredited private schools. This will provide you with on-the-job experience beginning the first semester of your junior year! By the time you are ready to begin your student teaching, you will be a “seasoned pro”.
Faculty. Faculty for each major are specialists within that teaching area. Pre-K - Primary courses are taught by early childhood specialists, elementary education by elementary education specialists, and exceptional student education by professors having expertise in various components of exceptional student education.
2+2 Requirements. You will need to have 60 credits from one of our partner community colleges (Miami Dade College, Broward Community College, Valencia Community College, and Edison Community College) and satisfy the required distribution requirements to be accepted into the program. If you graduated from a partner community college in the state of Florida since 2001 as an education major, your previous course work will most likely meet the prerequisites.
