Thompson was a three-year letterman for the Bucs from 1996-99. He was a member of the Bucs’ NCAA Tournament squads in 1998 and 1999. In 1999, the Bucs hosted and played in the final four for the first time in school history. As a freshman in 1996, he scored the game-winning goal against Sunshine State Conference rival Lynn in Barry’s 4-0 win over the Knights. The win was only the Buccaneers’ second win ever over the Fighting Knights. As a senior in 1999, he scored the game-winning goal against Indianapolis on senior day.

A 1989 graduate of Jamaica College, in his native Kingston, Jamaica, he played two seasons there, leading JC to the Pepsi Cup and Walker Cup finals.

He earned his bachelor’s degree from Barry in 2000 in economics and finance. He earned his master’s of business administration in finance and management in Barry’s Andreas School of Business in 2003.

He is married to the former Shannon Connolly. In addition to his work with the Buccaneers, he is a fund accounting analyst at Franklin Templeton Investments in Fort Lauderdale. In 2004, he served as head coach at Miami Palmetto Senior high and guided his squad from a 0-6 start to a district runner-up finish and a spot in the playoffs. He also formerly served as the head coach for the U-17 Weston Fury in the South Florida Premier League.
