Altone Williams begins
his first season as an assistant coach with the Barry volleyball program.
Williams currently works full time at Monsignor Edward Pace High school
in Miami, Fla. Since 1999, he has coached basketball and volleyball in
a variety of roles with both the varsity and junior varsity programs. He
has also served as a permanent substitute and school security.
In 2002, he took over
as head coach of the boy’s varsity volleyball
program. After three years with the program, he led the Spartans to back-to-back
District 14 championships and two consecutive appearances in the FHSAA
Boy’s State Championship Tournament in 2005 and 2006.
He has also served
as the assistant coach to the Miami Volleyball Club U-16 in 2005, head
coach of the South Florida Girl’s Volleyball U-17
club since 2006 and the assistant Club Florida Boy’s U-17 in 2006.
In addition, he has worked a vareity of volleyball clinics and camps in
South Florida.
Williams earned his B.S. degree in math and statistics from the University
of Peru in 2006.
