Eric D. Olson is the Academic Coordinator for Legal Studies and an Assistant Professor at Barry University. He is a member in good standing of The Florida Bar and practiced law for 11 years before joining the University in 1991 to administer the Legal Assistant Institute, a non-credit program serving the adult learner population of Miami-Dade and Broward Counties. In 1992, the Legal Assistant Institute was phased out and replaced by a college credit degree program in Legal Studies. Mr. Olson was instrumental in designing the Legal Studies degree programs at Barry University and, as the Academic Coordinator for the degree programs, serves as a faculty member teaching such Legal Studies courses as Contracts; Legal Writing; Law and the Legal System; Employment Law and Administrative Law and Process. He is currently a member of the NALA Certification Board, drafting and grading questions for the Certified Legal Assistant (CLA) examination. Mr. Olson earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, with Honors, at Florida Atlantic University (1972) and was awarded a Juris Doctor degree, with Honors, from the University of Florida (1980).
