MBA Specializations
Barry’s MBA offers you a general MBA and six different
specializations.
*This specialization requires one additional course, for a total
of 39 credit hours.
Core Courses
The following core courses are required for the General MBA and
the MBA specializations. Any exceptions are noted.

General MBA
If you choose to earn the General MBA, you would complete the
required core courses (24 credit-hours) along with three electives
chosen from different MBA specialization areas (9 credit-hours)
and one other elective (3 credit-hours). This schedule of courses
will give you breadth and a solid foundation.
Accounting
If you select accounting as your MBA specialization, you would
take the required core courses (with the exception of Managerial
Accounting, MBA 660). You will also be required to take the following
12 required semester hours:
- MSA 660 Professional Accounting and Auditing Issues
- MSA 663 Business Taxation
- MSA 664 Advanced Auditing
- MSA 668 Fund Accounting
Please note: If you enroll in the Accounting specialization, you
may not substitute any other MBA or MSA courses in place of those
listed above.
Finance
If finance is your interest, you would take the required core
courses, 9 credit hours chosen from the following, and one 3-credit
elective.
- MBA 612 International Finance
- MBA 622 Investment Analysis
- MBA 624 Financial Markets and Institutions
- MBA 628 Advanced Topics in Financial Management
Health Services Administration
For a career in health services, you would complete the required
core, 9 credit hours from the following, and one 3-credit elective.
- HSA 530 Health Law, Ethics and Social Issues
- HSA 540 Quality Assurance and Utilization Review
- HSA 610 Financing and Delivery of Health Care Services
- HSA 620 Health Care Budgeting and Financial Management
International Business
If you select an international business specialization, you would
take the following 12 credit hours plus the required core courses
and one elective:
- MBA 612 International Finance
- MBA 613 International Marketing
- MBA 614 Cross-Cultural Management
- MBA 700 Independent Study (Must be approved by advisor in advance)
Management
For a specialization in Management, you would take the required
core, 9 credit hours from the following, and one 3-credit elective.
- MBA 601 Human Resource Management
- MBA 604 Research in Management
- MBA 605 Entrepreneurial Management
- MBA 607 Business Consulting
- MBA 608 Leadership and Organizational
Behavior
- MBA 614 Cross-Cultural Management

of Business
Marketing
For a specialization in Marketing, you would complete the required
core, 9 credit hours from the following, and one 3-credit elective.

- MBA 645 Marketing Strategy
