Profile

Dr. McPhee joined the faculty in 1997 bringing with her has international professional social work and social work education experience including work in the United States, The Netherlands, and Canada. She holds a B.A. from St. Mary's University, an M.S. from Columbia University, and a Ph.D. from the University of Toronto. Dr. McPhee currently serves as the Dean of the School of Social Work. Her academic and research contributions include work in the areas of social justice and social welfare reform, child welfare, professional social work curriculum development, and international health care policy. She has significant funded research experience and scholarship in the areas of child welfare, health care policy, women and welfare reform, social work education, and the social construction of social problems. Dr. McPhee is active within the professional community promoting coalition-building, culturally relevant practice, and the integration of policy and practice. Dr. McPhee currently serves as a member of the national Council of Social Work Education’s Commission on Curriculum and Educational Innovation.
