Profile

Professor Thurston has been a member of the Barry faculty since 1979. Prior to coming to Barry, she served for many years as the Associate Director of the Urban League of Greater Miami. Professor Thurston holds a BS from Indiana University and MSW and Ph.D. from Florida State University. Professor Thurston's professional interests include organizational development and administration and the application of qualitative research methods in evaluating social services. She teaches research and administration courses in the MSW and Ph.D. programs. As President and CEO of The Thurston Group, Dr. Thurston consults extensively on organizational and evaluation issues both locally and nationally.
