New Book by Gonzalez Shows Relevance of Ortega's Thought

Dr. Pedro Blas González’s book, Ortega's 'The Revolt of the Masses' and the Triumph of the New Man was recently released by Algora Publishing. This book is a unique, up-to-date study of Ortega y Gasset's The Revolt of the Masses (1930). Detailing Ortega’s history of philosophy, González clearly illustrates Ortega’s conviction that philosophy as an activity or manner of thinking that faces naked reality, holistically, ended the ancient Greeks.

Perhaps even more importantly, González demonstrates the relevance and importance of Ortega y Gasset's thought for today's world, showing, for instance, how Ortega's categories like "mass man" and "decadence," have been vindicated by today's spiritual, moral and cultural decay.

With a glossary of special terms used by Ortega and references to his most noted contemporaries, this work is a fundamental tool for any student of Ortega, existentialism, and 20th-century European philosophy. Priced at $22.95, it is available from Amazon and Barnes and Noble.
