’02 Doctor of Ministry Grads Commissioned
at Cor Jesu Chapel
Four
D.Min candidates and their mentors responded to the Call to Commission
and the Proclamation of the Word during the Commission ceremony
at Cor Jesu Chapel on December 13, 2002. In the audience of family,
friends, colleagues, and fellow students were scores of supporters
from St. Vincent DePaul Regional Seminary and the First Hungarian
United Church of Christ in Miami as Sister Margarita Gomez and Reverend
Eva Lukacsi, Jeffrey Krauss and Patricia Sandall gave synopses of
their thesis-projects.
“We are very proud
of our graduates and of the cultural and theological diversity their
work represents,” said Dr. Alicia Marill, Director of the
DMin program. The thesis-projects addressed a variety of ministries:
Prophetism and Ordained Priesthood in the Light of Jeremiah the
Reluctant Prophet (Gomez); Hospice Chaplaincy and the Virtue of
Hope (Krauss); Theology of Proclamation as Evangelization in the
First Hungarian United Church of Christ, Miami (Lukacsi); and Toward
Pastoral and Liturgical Guidelines for the Celebration of the Quinceanera
at Old Mission Santa Barbara (Sandall). The four were awarded the
doctorate in ministry at the December 14 commencement. |
