Theology Honor Society News
Theta Alpha Kappa, the national honor society
for students of Religious Studies and Theology, was founded 26 years
ago to serve the needs of those involved in religious studies and
theology at the baccalaureate and post-baccalaureate levels of higher
education. There are currently over 160 chapters in the U.S., including
one at Barry. The Faculty Sponsor is Fr. Daniel Madden, OP. Each
year, TAK presents the Albert Clark Award to one undergraduate and
one graduate student for the best papers in religious studies or
theology, as judged by a panel established by the National Board
of Directors. Competition winners receive $200 each, and their articles
are published in the Journal of TAK.
The competition is open to all students at schools with TAK chapters
and to alumni members of TAK. Contact
Dr. Gloria L. Schaab, SSJ
at
gschaab@mail.barry.edu for more information on this Award.
Theta Alpha Kappa is a related scholarly organization
of the American Academy of Religion, an affiliate society of the
Council of Societies for the Study of Religion, and a member of
the Association of College Honor Societies.
