Philosophy Association of Barry University
Mission and Purpose
Philosophy Association is an intellectually oriented
organization that challenges our everyday beliefs in all aspects
of our everyday life. Its mission is to promote intellectual discussions
among students and faculty members on topics such as:
- The Existence of God
- The Problem of Evil
- National Political Issues
- International Political Issues
- Social and Economic Policies
- Social Justice
- Ethics and Morality
- Abortion
- Affirmative Action
- Animal Rights
- Multiculturalism
The Philosophy Club offers its members:
- The opportunity to delve into profound
discussions on
- serious and important topics concerning
our existence and our society today.
- The opportunity to learn the skill of
argumentation by
- observing famous professional philosophers
at work at
- Special Philosophy Colloquiums.
- The opportunity to learn the skill of
argumentation by
- engaging and participating in organized
debates.

The Philosophy Club is now accepting applications
for enrollment. If you are interested in serious intellectual discussions
on the most fundamental issues concerning our existence, then become
a member today.
Membership Information
Any Barry University student who enjoys debating
and discussing philosophical issues is eligible to become a member
of the Association. One of the Association's purpose is to provide
a forum where students can engage in productive debates on philosophical
issues.
All members and non-members are invited and encouraged
to participate in our Student Colloquium Series. You can either
submit a paper to read; volunteer to be a commentator at one of
the sessions; or simply attend and ask questions, raise concerns,
or give your view on the topic.
