Cross Training for Providers of Elder Services & Special Needs Populations
This free training is available to human services providers of Elder Services and Special Needs Populations. The free training is provided by Barry University with funding from Miami-Dade County.
Attend individual sessions or multiple sessions to earn a certificate (equivalent of 30 hours of training) in Cross Training for Providers of Elder Services and Special Needs Populations. Sessions being offered this period include:
- Advanced Case Management
- Family Violence
- Legal Aid Society: Assisting Clients with Domestic Abuse Presented by Brenda Rivera, Esq. and Juanity Cendan, Esq.
- What are Social Skills?
- Communication and Body Language
- Case Management: Setting Boundaries
- Women and Immigration Presented by Sheri Valentine, Esq.
- Diversity in the Workplace
- Empowering Your Clients and Yourself
- Adolescent Growth and Development
- Suicide and Stress Management
- Grief, Loss, Death, and Dying
- The 3 S’s: Sexuality, Seniors, and Special Needs
- Aging Under the Microscope: A Biological Quest
- Alzheimer’s Disease: Unraveling the Mystery
By special request these trainings can be brought to your place of employment for large groups of employees who are not able to attend the sessions. We have offered special sessions at: the Homeless Assistance Centers (North and South locations), Center for Family and Child Enrichment, and Passageways.
