What is the SHRM Learning System?

Designed to provide an overview of key areas in HR management, the SHRM Learning System Course provides a solid foundation for managing the HR challenges you face in today's demanding work environment. It supplies a current reference of HR practices, broadens the perspective of functional specialists, and strengthens individual competencies and productivity. In addition to being an excellent professional development opportunity, the Learning System is a powerful tool to assist you in preparing for the PHR and SPHR certification exams.

Certification Information

Enrollment in this course prepares you to take the HRCI exam for PHR/SPHR certification.

Please note that to earn either the Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) designations, candidates must have at least two (2) years of exempt-level experience in the HR field to be eligible to apply to take either exam.

Participants planning to take the PHR or SPHR examinations after this course must register through HRCI.

HRCI has contracted Prometric Testing, a leading computer-based testing vendor.   While no single course of study guarantees success on the HRCI examinations, thousands of individuals have used the SHRM Learning System to study for the exams.

Instructors

Barry University hires professional Human Resource instructors, certified PHR/SPHR. Barry University reserves the right to substitute instructors, change the day a program meets, or cancel programs due to insufficient enrollment or unforeseen events.

Materials

Materials include six module-specific workbooks that correspond to the six functional areas, responsibilities, and associated knowledge as defined by the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI). Materials will be provided at your first class, they are included in your tuition.  Registration for the courses also provides access to http://www.learnhrm.com/index.html which includes application questions. A glossary, e-flashcards, pre- and post-tests and an ongoing view of progress. Learnhrm.com compliments the new online testing.

Note: Course registration fees include the preparation course final class exam, but not the fee for the PHR/SPHR exam through HRCI.
