While most students, faculty and staff were enjoying some down time over Spring Break, March 4 – March 8, 2013, over 20 sport management majors from the School of Human Performance and Leisure Sciences, along with a handful of student-athletes, were gaining valuable experience working at the Cadillac World Golf Championship at Doral.
The students staffed the PGA merchandise facility for five days from 7 a.m. – 8 p.m. In addition, the students were responsible for setting up the facility prior to the event and then breaking the area down following the tournament.
Over the course of the championship, the staff sold over $250,000 in Cadillac Golf Championship merchandise. The Cadillac Championship is one of four World Golf Championship events in which the top 64 golfers in the world compete.
