Women's Soccer Comes Up Short With Panthers

MELBOURNE, Fla.—The Barry Buccaneers dropped their second straight one-goal decision 1-0 to Florida Tech on the road at Rick Stottler Field on Saturday.

Chelsea Belfer knocked in the only goal of the game in the 13th minute, lofting a 25-yard shot over Buccaneer keeper Becca Rogers.  Courtney Hueston had an assist.

The Panthers (3-1) out-shot the Bucs 17-6, including 11-3 on goal. Rogers had nine saves for the Bucs, while Julia Kantor made three saves for the Panthers.

It was the first time the Buccaneers have been shutout in the regular season since Oct. 19, 2011 at Northwood.

The Bucs (4-2-0) travel to the Turley Sports Complex on Tuesday, Sept. 24 to face the Eckerd Tritons at 7:00 pm.
