BOCA RATON, Fla.—The Barry Buccaneeers fell 3-1 to arch-rival Lynn at the Lynn Soccer Field on Tuesday afternoon, as each team held serve on their home field in the series.

The Bucs (6-8-1, 3-3-0 SSC) had beaten the Knights 1-0 at Buccaneer Field on Sept. 28.

The Knights (7-4-1, 4-1-0 SSC) got on the board in the first half when Simon Gubish crossed the ball in from the left wing to Michael O’Neil at the top of the box. O’Neil’s shot, in the 30th minute, got past Barry keeper Johnny Rodrigues.

The score stood until after halftime. In the 56th minute, Barry got the equalizer. Thomas Coombes got the goal with an assist from Michael Fernandez.

The tie lasted just over 2:00. Lynn’s Jake Furman slid onto a cross from Chris Hellman and beat Rodrigues in the 58th minute.

Hellman added a goal of his own in the 65th minute. Hellman got to Yannick Braeuer’s pass into the box before Rodrigues and stepped around for the goal.

The Knights held a 24-3 advantage in shots, including 9-1 on goal. Rodrigues had six saves for the Bucs to keep it from getting out of hand. Kevin Sheilds made no saves for the Knights.

The Bucs travel to Tampa, Fla., on Friday, Oct. 25 at 7:00 pm to face the Tampa Spartans.
