1) How large is the student body at Barry? Our tradition full time undergraduate student body numbers just over 2000 students. They come from 49 US states and territories and over 70 different countries.

2) What is the student-to-faculty ratio? Barry prides itself on providing a personalized educational opportunity. Our current student faculty ratio is 14:1. You will know your professors and classmates and they will know you.

3) How can I apply to Barry? Complete the online undergraduate application, or receive a copy of the conventional paper application by contacting the Office of Admissions.

4) What is the application deadline? Barry University has a rolling admissions policy. Applications are accepted as long as there is available space for students. An admission decision is made as soon as the file is complete, and the applicant is notified immediately by letter.

5) Are there scholarships and grants available? Yes! Barry has a generous grant and scholarship program which is based on your previous academic performance. Upon acceptance, you will automatically be awarded any academic grant or scholarship for which you qualify. Please contact an admissions counselor for more information.

6) How do I apply for financial aid and scholarships? Academic grants and scholarships do not need a separate application. The admission application is sufficient. Other types of financial aid require completion of the FAFSA. For more information, visit our Financial Aid web pages.

7) How do I contact my admissions counselor? It’s easy. Just call the Admissions Office at 305-899-3100 (1-800-695-2279) or email admissions@mail.barry.edu.

8) Are freshmen required to live on campus? No. We encourage freshmen who do not live in the Miami-Dade / Fort Lauderdale area to live on campus, but it is not required.

9) Can I bring my car to campus? Yes. Students are permitted to have vehicles on campus. All vehicles must be registered with Campus Security and have a parking permit.

10) Can I visit the campus? Yes! We encourage prospective students and applicants to visit our campus and see our state-of-the-art facilities and enjoy our beautiful tropical weather. 11) Can I stay on campus when I visit? Unfortunately, we do not have space available to accommodate our guests in our residence halls. Our Admissions Office will be happy to recommend local hotels.

12) Does Barry accept Dual Credit, AP credits, or CLEP credits? Yes! All three types of credits are acceptable at Barry, provided they meet our requirements. For further information, contact the Office of Admissions.

13) Can I enter Barry University as a transfer student? Yes! Barry has a long history of accepting qualified transfer students. You must meet the appropriate requirements for the program you are applying to.

14) What are the costs of attending Barry University? For the academic year 2006-2007 our tuition is $12,000.00 per semester and our room and board is $3,465- 4,825 per semester, depending on occupancy. Our generous grant and scholarship program certainly helps out with these costs. Contact your admissions counselor today to find out what kind of grants or scholarships you are eligible for.

15) How far is Barry from the beaches? Our beautiful tropical campus is located about 5 miles west of the Atlantic Ocean and its miles of sunny sandy beaches.

16) What kind of campus activities do students get involved in? Barry has over 75 student organizations representing the diversity of interests among the Barry University student community. Each student's developmental and educational opportunities are enhanced through the coordination of various leadership programs, trips and social activities. Additionally, Barry is a member of the NCAA, division II, with 12 intercollegiate athletics teams.
