As we celebrate 2020 as “The Year of the Nurse and Midwife,” never has the contribution of nurses (and other healthcare workers) in providing quality, safe and effective patient care been more evident.

While they were students at Barry, our College of Nursing and Health Sciences alumni found friends and mentors, and were part of a community of scholars who inspired them. Now, they inspire us as the nurses, physicians and healthcare professionals putting their lives on the front line in this response and fight against COVID-19.

DAA group 2019 On Feb. 13, almost 300 friends and members of the Barry community came together at the Shepard & Ruth K. Broad Center for the Performing Arts, to honor 10 distinguished alumni for the significant impact made in their community through their service and career achievements.

The event, which was hosted by NBC6 South Florida weekend anchor and Barry alumnus Keith Jones'94, featured moving testimonials from honorees about the impact of their Barry experiences and how the Barry Core Commitments of Knowledge and Truth, Inclusive Community, Social Justice, and Collaborative Service are alive in everything they do.

Admitted Students Day is a cherished tradition at Barry University, and in observance of federal recommendations regarding the novel COVID-19 virus, we're taking the event online. Answer the Call! Volunteers Needed for Virtual Phonathon to Admitted Students

In partnership with the Office of Admissions, alumni volunteers are needed to help make calls to newly admitted students, during a virtual phonathon on April 14th and April 21st, from 6:30 - 8:30 PM. Staff from Admissions will provide volunteers with general information about the phonathon initiative, along with a short training and tips for connecting with these students. If you are interested in helping to welcome the newest members of the Barry family.

Join Us in a Salute to Our Graduating Seniors!

Since May's graduation and commencement ceremonies have been cancelled due to COVID-19 guidelines, all alumni are invited to help salute the Class of 2020 via a virtual video toast. What message of well-wishes and encouragement would you like to send to our graduating seniors? Submit your recording in landscape mode to leadership@barry.edu by April 15th to be featured in the official Class of 2020 Senior Send Off video.

Palm Sunday is the first celebration of Holy Week, which recalls Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem and his passion and death on the Cross. Come join us from home on Sunday, April 5 at 11 AM for a special virtual service with prayer and song streamed live on Facebook.
