Roxanne S. Davies, PhD ’12
Associate Vice President, Mission and Institutional Effectiveness
Dr. Roxanne Davies’ passion as a life-long educator has taken her on an interesting personal journey, which includes service to Barry University for the last two decades. As the Associate Vice President for Mission and Institutional Effectiveness, she oversees the Office of Mission Engagement, which offers learning and leadership development opportunities that foster a personal and collective understanding of Barry’s mission for students, faculty and staff. She also serves on the Adrian Dominican Sponsorship Commission where she is able to further the vision of Barry’s founding congregation through working on special campus projects related to lay leadership.
Dr. Davies played a key role in the development of the Community Learning Partnership of Greater Miami Shores (CLP), an innovative partnership with leaders from local K-12 public, private and parochial schools, businesses and organizations seeking to establish educational excellence as a priority. Entirely grant funded, the CLP embodies the on-going commitment by its partners to work with underserved schools to support their vast educational needs. For its role in founding and providing ongoing support for the CLP, Barry University received the Graham Civic Learning Award and the Campus-Community Partnership Award from Florida Campus Compact.
Dr. Davies enjoys traveling, biking, reading, community engagement, and spending time with her husband, John and two sons, Christian and Harrison. She has been a Licensed Psychotherapist in Florida since 1989. A native of Seabrook, Texas, she earned her B.S. in Sociology and her M.S. in Counseling Psychology at Texas A&M University. She completed her Ph.D. in Higher Educational Leadership and Administration at Barry University in 2012.
