Legacy Families at Orientation

Once you’ve made the decision to continue the Barry tradition in your family, you’ll receive a special welcome at orientation! All incoming Legacy students and their families are invited to attend a Legacy Welcome Dinner on August 21, 2018, hosted by local legacy families and the Barry University Alumni Association. This dinner provides new Legacy students an opportunity to meet other legacies on campus, to speak with Barry’s leaders, and to connect with alumni who share the same powerful bond with Barry.

Eligible students will be invited over the summer of 2018. Legacy students not scheduled to move in on August 21 but interested in attending the Legacy Welcome Dinner, may request to move in on August 21 by completing this form. Forms must be submitted before August 10, 2018.

I have a very strong connection with Barry University starting with my parents. When they arrived from Cuba in 1960, the Adrian Dominican sisters at Barry University opened their doors to Cuban refugees to help them improve their language skills. My father who is 97, remembers Sr. Kenneth fondly to this day. My four older sisters and I then all earned degrees at Barry and finally, so did my son. I am so grateful to Barry and proud to be part of a family that has used the wonderful education that we received to fulfill our goals in life."
