Message from Barry University Associate Vice President for Alumni Relations & Annual Giving

Dear Barry Alumni,

I am writing to inform you of upcoming leadership changes for the Barry University Department for Alumni Relations and Annual Giving.  My husband, Jerry, has just accepted a wonderful new position in Nashville, TN.  While I am very committed to Barry University and have truly enjoyed developing stronger relationships with our alumni, the best decision for my family is for me to join him there.  Unfortunately, given the responsibilities of the Alumni Relations and Annual Giving Department, it will not be possible for me to effectively manage it remotely and Barry University has begun a search for new leadership.

My position, Associate Vice President for Alumni Relations and Annual Giving, has been posted on the Barry University Career Opportunities website: http://www.barry.edu/human-resources/job-postings.html  (Keyword Search: “Alumni”)

Barry University realizes how important engaging our alumni is to the future of our school, and will conduct an extensive, nationwide search to find the appropriate candidate.  I encourage you to share this posting with your contacts.  Barry wants to ensure that the right person is identified to fill this role.  In the interim, I will assist from Nashville for as long as possible to ensure a smooth transition.

I am “Barry Proud” of all that the Alumni Association has accomplished in my 2.5 year tenure:  eight Regional Alumni Chapters have been formed, and the Young Alumni Association and Student Alumni Association have been created and are continuing to grow.  The Annual Fund team has joined the department which has led to a dramatic improvement on Faculty and Staff giving and a small increase in Alumni giving, which I hope will continue to progress in years to come.

Thank you for all of the support you have given to me and Barry University over the past few years.  It has been such a pleasure working with you.   Don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions during this transitional period.  I know that with your help, the best is yet to come for Barry University!

Always Barry Proud,

Elizabeth Reed
