Student iGive Campaign
2015 Legacy Project

What is the Legacy Project?

Created in 2012, The Legacy Project empowers you to make a tangible difference not only in your campus experience, but also in the lives of future Buccaneers.

Each year, students have the opportunity to suggest and vote for a Legacy Project, a way to leave their mark and enhance campus life. You can support new equipment, scholarships, campus beautification, student programs, and more.

Once a project is selected and a goal is established, Barry’s Student Alumni Association and the Phonation Student Fundraising Program work with you and your fellow Buccaneers throughout the year to meet the fundraising goal.

Unlike the traditional class gift, the Legacy Project is not limited to the graduating class. All Barry students, from freshmen to seniors, are encouraged to participate.

The 2014-15 Legacy Project will focus on raising funds for an outdoor information center/bulletin board. The cost of an outdoor information center/bulletin board is about $1,500, which is this year’s student fundraising goal. All other funds exceeding $1,500, will be used toward next year’s Legacy Project campaign efforts.

In an effort to make a final push toward the goal, each Spring semester will feature an “iGive Student Campaign.” This four week long campaign promotes the Legacy Project through various programming to raise awareness as well as raise funds in support of the annual Legacy Project.

Taxi Tuesdays

The fundraiser will bring awareness to the Legacy Project. Every Tuesday in February, golf carts will be driven around the main campus offering taxi rides to students to their requested destination for $1.00. While enjoying the ride, students will fill out a donor form and will have the opportunity to purchase an iGive sticker for an additional $4.00, which will enable them to receive unlimited taxi services for all upcoming “Taxi Tuesdays.”

When: February 3, February 10, February 17, and February 24

Raffle

Tables in Landon and Thompson will be used to educate and inform students about the Legacy Project and its importance. Each Wednesday in February, the table will promote upcoming events while also giving students an opportunity to purchase $3 raffle tickets for chances to win various prizes. Winners will be announced on February 27

Chauffer Experience

Win the raffle and we'll literally roll out the red carpet for you. The following Friday, you will be chauffeured between classes for an entire day and treated like a VIP, including snacks, giveaways, and an iGive sticker for free Taxi Tuesday rides.
