Research Rotations/Research Techniques Seminar
Grades of credit (“CR”) or no credit (“NC”) will be recorded for the Research Rotations and Research Techniques Seminar courses. All “NC” grades must be resolved and replaced by “CR” for successful completion of the program, as specified in the grading policy.

Registration for Thesis Research
A student may enroll for a maximum of 3 credit hours of Thesis Research during the first semester in which research has begun. If the designated research is completed and approved by the student advisory committee in the semester registered, then the student will receive a credit (“CR") grade. If the research is not completed and approved by the advisory committee, then the student will receive an incomplete-in-progress ("IP") grade at the end of the semester. A "CR" grade will replace all "IP" designations only after:

  1. the thesis is successfully defended by the student before the student's examination committee; and
  2. the committee approves the thesis and awards it a passing grade.

Every effort will be made to design the student program so that it can be completed within two years. The student advisory committee will monitor progress.

Thesis
Three bound copies of the student’s thesis must be prepared at the student’s expense. Two copies of the thesis will be placed in the Barry University Library and the remaining copy will be submitted to the Chair of Basic Medical Sciences for archiving in the School of Graduate Medical Sciences library.
