Barry University's Department of Biology Welcomed Ms. Susan Hahn for a discussion on A Day in the Life of a Genetic Counselor

Susan Hahn, MS, CGC, of the Hussman Institute for Human Genomics visited Barry University's Department of Biology on Friday, October 4, 2013, giving two standing room only seminars for students enrolled in Genetics, Introduction to Human Physiology, and Cell Biology.

Ms. Hahn, president-elect of the American Board of Genetic Counseling, is one of the fewer than 3,000 genetic counselors in the United States. Her talk highlighted the need for genetic counseling in this age of genetic testing and personalized medicine, the challenges, and the rewards associated with the profession.
