Thoughts on the game:
Saint Leo played great, they were fantastic tonight. They were 12-23 from the three and we just couldn’t get the three guarded. It’s just the story of our season; we tend to shoot ourselves in our foot. It’s amazing that we got it to where it was a one possession game late. We didn’t shoot the ball confidently and we had been shooting the ball pretty well. I think we got a little shell shocked and demoralized when they knocked down some shots.

Thoughts on the year:
It has been uncharted waters for us all year. Never been 8-8, never lost in the first round of the tournament. This team was just demoralized from the start.

Reggie Richardson—G, Senior

On Saint Leo Shooting:
I knew they were capable of getting in a rhythm and shooting pretty good. No I wasn’t surprised. I was our job stop them, we couldn’t get it done in the first half, that’s when they got their big lead.

Ellery Boykin—G, Senior

On tying the game:
We just didn’t get our defensive stops. They were very consistent like coach said.

Mike Madagan—Head Coach

Game Summary:
Intensity coming out and the focus that we had, I can take no credit for that it was them. They were up, into each other, excited. They weren’t going to let each other down. We wanted to make sure we made a statement to day with great effort against and excellent basketball team, and we did it.

What did you different from previous meetings?:
We did not play any man to man today. I intended to play man today, but the zone was working for us today. We maintained the defense.

J.J. Turner—G, Sophomore
On his first half:
The goal was like an ocean. Every time I threw it up it was going in. I had my mind set before the game started that everything I was going to shoot was going to go in. I basically did it for the team, they kept telling me ‘you need to hit buckets’. We said it in the locker room that we were not going home today.

Marquis McCullough—G, Freshman
On J.J. being hot today: Question—Have you seen J.J. hot like that before?
Everyday in practice, he don’t miss.

Confidence in shooting for team:
Everybody has confidence in everybody. We don’t doubt each other; we think everyone can play on the team. You go out and play and keep our composure.
