Game notes:
We’re just happy we got a victory here. To come down to Barry and win
is very difficult especially in a tournament. We didn’t play very well in
the first half in fact we played very poor, but we didn’t quit, the guys
really battled and played hard. The bench helped a great deal. We’ve had
some pretty tough games this year. We are a very inexperienced team.

7 sec. to go in the game, Free throw shots to win the game:
I’m just thinking, block everything else out and make it seem like
I’m in the gym by myself shooting. It’s no pressure because if I think about
the pressure, you’re going to forget about everything that you know. Coach
after practice makes me practice free throws. I knew they were trying to
ice me; I just had to act like I never left the free throw line.
Mark Borders—G, Junior
12 points out of 20 in 2nd half:
When I came out after I picked up my second foul, my teammates told
me ‘I’m not playing. You have to figure out a way to get yourself involved
and be more aggressive.’ While sitting down and watching I settled down.
I guess I was rushing things (in the beginning) I was just so excited to
come out and play.

Game Summary:
I think it was a great game, typical Tampa and Barry game from this
year. I thought today we came out in the first half and had a big lead and
we couldn’t put them away to their credit. At the very end we put the ball
in our best player’s hands with 5.6 sec and I can go to bed at night knowing
that. All the credit goes to Tampa, no excuses on our part.
Calix N’Diaye—G, Senior
The game ending:
I knew he was going to cut through, so when he caught the ball that
he was going to try to get a foul. I tried to stay vertical. It was
a tough call for the refs to make.
Nick Ellingsworth-Perez—F, Senior
On the game:
It’s (the loss) tough to swallow. First half we came out our energy
was great. We got out on defense, our offense was clicking. Credit
to them in the second half, they came out they were a different team.
Their defense
tightened up. It shows in the end result.
