Marilyn Rule—Head Coach
Thoughts on the game:
Our hats off to FIT they really played well today and they were the
better team today. Our kids fought hard, they played with their hearts,
they and put it all out there and we just fell short. Somebody’s got to
win, somebody’s got to lose, and that’s just how the game is played. The
nice thing is we get everybody back and can look forward to next year.
(We’ll) Let this game motivate us and get us ready for next year. We’re
going to be back next year and tough to beat I think. Tomorrow will be
a heck of a game.
On the 2nd half:
Well we missed opportunities; we came out cold in the second half.
The shots didn’t fall and I don’t know if our kids were rushing shot or
pushing to hard.
Prepare for FL Tech v. Barry
I don’t think it was huge adjustment, I think the style of FIT is similar
to ours, they made the big plays when they needed to and the size inside
caused us a little trouble. I think the biggest difference is that Barry
didn’t have a big kid and FIT did that made rebounding a little more difficult.
There really was no big difference with the game plan; they both have pretty
good shooters and a lot of similarities.
Missy Guadagnino—G, Junior
Conference experience:
It was exciting. I’ve tournaments before, in high school and in the
SEC. I’m kind of use to it so I just come ready to play and I try to get
the team ready to play. I know some of the freshmen come in nervous and I
just try to help them not think about it.
Florida Tech
John Reynolds—Head Coach
Game Summary:
I think Nova was the surprise team in the league all year. I don’t
think anyone saw that team coming. Marylin was coach of the year and I think
it was well deserved. I think their team was well prepared today. It was
a complete defensive effort today from the kids that came off the bench.
I think our defense won the basketball game because we didn’t shoot very
well today.
Milana Velasquez—F, Sophomore
I personally look up to Ty and Shayla, but I think that everyone on
the team plays for the whole team and it’s not about anybody individually.
We’re just ballers.
Jennifer Tamilio—G, Sophomore
Pressure going up against Missy:
Not really. I play a player as a player no matter what. I play so we’ll
have a chance to win.
Danise Fequiere—F/C, Sophomore
Being home is great, it’s a good feeling being back.
Was she thinking about
shooting and half time:
No, I was thinking about defense; I don’t think my shot was on, but
once I started being patient with the ball and in and out, it all
came through and the defense set me off.
Whole team effort.
