Thoughts on the game:
The bottom line in this game is that Saint Leo fought their tails off for forty minutes. I’m proud of our guys because offensively we struggled. They kept us on our heels offensively and we didn’t handle the zone particularly well. We stayed in and we fought and hung in there."

On Edwards’s improvements:
He has stayed persistent and I’ve been tough on him. He’s fairly new to the game; he didn’t start touching the ball until around 15-16 years old. We all believe in him, his teammates believe in him.

Picking up his 3rd foul
I had to make sure I didn’t pick up anything cheap inside. I knew they were going to try to get me out of the game, I had to move my feet.

Body advantage:
I just work hard and doing things coach tought me like getting the position and worked on that over time. I was frustrated at the line tonight. I just try to step up and knock them down, I can’t worry about missing it. I just have to worry about it when I get there.

Marcus Hayes—F, Junior
On the game tonight and post season play:
Every game that they play their season is on the line, so they are not going to be passive and let us take the game away from them. Every game I try to fill in wherever the team needs me to, and just look for opportunities to be aggressive, especially toward the end of the game when it’s time to step up and make big play, I try to keep that mind set to be patient and keep my eyes open to help my team out..

Game Summary:
It was obviously a defensive game, even though the tempo went up and down a good bit. Both teams took care of the ball and guarded each other. They are very physical and I think they do a great job. They are as good a defensive team as there is in the league and they set a very physical tone in the game with the way they rebound the ball, get into you, pressure and deny you. It takes you out of your element offensively. That was the difference early for us. We tried in the second to get out and push the ball ahead passing it. That’s how we got a little bit of a run going. Ultimately in the end they made some plays we made a few, they made more.

Marquis McCullough—G, Freshman

4-for-10 from the three-point line…his feeling in the second half:
Our strategy is to get past the first five minutes after halftime. That first five minutes can make or break you, so we try to come out strong and just fire.

At the end:
I forced a couple shots and got a couple good looks and I just missed them.

Jackie Lamons—C, Senior

Battle in the middle:
They are good players; I was just trying to play my best basically. I focus on defense more than offense; I feel that if they can’t score we can score two points and win. That’s what I was trying to do, stop their big man from scoring.

Playing at St. Leo:
It was a good experience. I came in under another coach and it’s hard to change coaches, but he stepped up to the plate and made us comfortable. He made us feel like his players.
