Lynn University
Scott McMillin—Head Coach
Thoughts on the game:
It’s been a hard fought weekend. This afternoon, that’s what it’s all
about. Two great basketball teams slugging it out one possession after
the other. I’m proud of our guys, every one of them. I’m proud of our
coaching staff. We’ve worked hard up to this point. When we walk out
of here our focus
is on next week and the NCAA tournament.
Justin Wingard—F, Senior
On his MVP:
I really don’t know what to say about that. I just wanted to go out
and play. I really wanted it, the team wanted it. MVP or not I just wanted
to get the job done. It’s a tremendous feeling; don’t get me wrong, but much
more to look forward to right now.
Sheldon Edwards—F, Junior
My teammates and coaching staff trust me and they had the confidence
in me, they put me out there to do what I do. I’m not trying to pat myself
on the back, I know my capabilities and it’s just for me to go out there
and play the way I’m capable of playing and it worked out for us.
Austin Faber—G, Senior
Feelings on winning the championship:
To sum that up—amazing. We knew what we had coming in this year and
we’ve been saying all year to stay together. We fought hard. It’s just
an amazing feeling.
3 assists…leading
to 9 pts:
This whole tournament I found it hard to get anything going offensively.
I didn’t see many open looks, it was just a little tougher this tournament.

Game Summary:
I was real proud of how we played. The first half, when we got down
the guys really battled, they stayed together. It got to a point where we
could start executing some of our stuff and we started having some success
and feeding off that. I don’t think we handled it well, I don’t think we
continued to do the things that got us our four point lead in the second
half. Their defense takes you out of some of your offence possessions.
Time out before half time to end with a tie:
I said we’ve just got to stay together and execute our offenses, and
keep our defensive pressure up. Defensively we were doing a good
job, but they were just getting rebound after rebound and that
was killing us. I
told our guys at halftime if we get out rebounded we won’t win.
Greg Plummer—G, Senior
On his season:
The season for me has been up and down. More up than down. I kept fighting
[through slump] now I’m playing better, I’ve been putting everything
in the past. The team is doing a lot better. We didn’t peak early like
most teams, we peaked during the middle of the season, and now I think
we are
playing the best basketball we’ve played. It’s just that today we had
a lapse for too many minutes and they took advantage.
Baskets during the second:
I think I took three bad shots. Sometimes when I make a couple I think
I’m hotter than anybody who ever played the game. I try to keep going but
that’s when I start to mess up. That’s when I start to mess up and take
bad shots. When I started going the team started going, then Lynn were
on their heels, but we didn’t finish them off like we were suppose to.
