MNU Head Coach Jim Moore
“I’m disappointed. It’s easy to say we didn’t play well but you have
to give Duluth credit. I still believe this is the best passing team
I have ever coached, including the 1993 team that won the national championship.
We didn’t prove that necessarily tonight. Unfortunately for Ashley
(Kiel)
this may be her worst passing night of her two-year career but you
have to credit Duluth with that, they served us tough and they gave
us some
problems."
“I’m disappointed for the seniors. I felt these were the people that brought
this program back to where it needs to be. It is back where it needs to be,
it’s on track because of them. I think the most important thing in athletics
is tribal law, what carries on from team to team. These seniors have set
the tone. This match, these games are disappointing but I’m thrilled that
the program is back on the right track and I’m very excited about that.”
On his mindset after being down 2-0:
“I told them after game one, I didn’t care. I was almost certain we would
loose game one. But one at a time I thought we would march are way back in.
We had no margin for error, and when didn’t make the right adjustments in
game four then we were in trouble.”
Aimee Dewitte, OH, No. Michigan
"Our mind set was we couldn’t get over excited and stay focus, we did
win game three, we needed to come back with focus, but we came back
with a lack of focus, and they didn’t. They came back at us hard and
we didn’t
adjust."
Jennie Little, OH, No. Michigan
"I don’t think the mind set changed, it stayed the same as it did in
games one and two, so that’s why we lost in game four."
Jim Boos, Head Coach, Minnesota Duluth
Comments on the game:
"We played very well in that first game right off the bat despite that we have
never been here before. That’s what set the tone for us we got the jitters
out of the way and started playing with confidence. Acted as if it was just
another tournament we were playing in. That helped us get the ball rolling
and that started us off on a good note."
Callie Zwettler, OH, Minnesota Duluth
Crowd traveling to the game:
"It helps a ton knowing how many people we have here. The fact they were cheering
the whole game, they are probably as tired as we are. They were great."
Tomorrow’s expectations:
"We are really excited about being in the Final Four. That’s incredible
for our team, first in the nationals, and in the Final Four. At the
same time we still have a job to do; we have to come out strong tomorrow."
Greta Iisakka, S, Minnesota Duluth
Tomorrow’s expectations:
"I think tonight we realized that we pretty much beat ourselves when we were
down. So tomorrow we have to focus on our side of the net, we should be able
to play well against either team."
