Jim Boos, Head Coach,
Minnesota Duluth
Comments on the Game:
Clearly disappointing for us, just not a good performance tonight as well as
we had been playing for the last month we just didn’t have it tonight. I give
Barry credit, they had a great crowd and once they got momentum on their side
they rolled with it and they played with a lot of confidence, and when a confident
team is playing well it’s really hard to get back into a match. We could never
quite get over that hump, we’d be up by a few but they always seemed to get back
ahead.
Effect of Barry’s Jump Serve:
More than I anticipated. We worked against that kind of stuff a lot, for whatever
reason we were tight tonight.
Callie Zwettler, OH, Minnesota Duluth
On the Barry’s Block:
They gave me more trouble than I expected. They have a solid block and those
five girls are hard to hit around. It seemed no matter where I was there was
always four hands up there, they did a very good job.
Greta Iisakka, S, Minnesota Duluth
On having a good season:
It’s hard to think about that right now because our season is over. It was
a great experience coming here it was fun to be with my team one last time.
We had such great team chemistry this year it was a lot of fun being here.
Dave Nichols, Head Coach, Barry University
Comments on the Game:
I thought we were really sharp. Minnesota Duluth is an outstanding team, well
coached, great athletes, and I think they have a lot of heart. I went in expecting
a five game match. I thought we stepped up and played a solid match, and better
at sustaining energy. We did a good job adjusting and we slowed them down.
On whether the team has now played their best game:
I told them when I left the locker room--absolutely it's
still out there to be played.
Karla Bersano, OH, Barry University
On the crowd:
They were helping to support us. Their support was very helpful.
Fernanda Brino, OH, Barry University
On the crowd:
I like it.
