Maryanne Simkulak enters her fifth year at Barry after being promoted to Assistant Athletic Director. In this position, she manages the department’s compliance programs including recruiting, financial aid, and the NLI process. In addition to her work with compliance, Simkulak serves as the SAAC advisor for Barry University, and the Sunshine State Conference’s SAAC ELITE Committee. Simkulak serves as the chair of special events for the athletic department, by planning and coordinating athletic department and university wide events including the Wall of Honor, annual Athletic Director Awards Banquet, and National Girls and Women in Sports Day. She also serves as the CHAMPS/Life Skills Coordinator.

Prior to her promotion, Simkulak served as the Assistant Director of Compliance from 2006-2008, and the Coordinator of Athletic Operations from 2005-2006. In these positions, she worked to develop the university’s compliance video and freshman seminars through CHAMPS/Life Skills.

Simkulak received her M.S. in Sports Management from Barry University in May 2005. While attending Barry, she served as the Administrative Graduate Assistant working in various facets within the department.

Prior to coming to Barry, Simkulak completed internships with the athletic departments at Nova Southeastern and Lynn University, as well as with the Sunshine State Conference office in Orlando.

Simkulak graduated from Lynn University in May 2003 with a B.S. in Sports Management. She resides in Miramar with her husband, Brian, and stepchildren Brittany, Brian, and Destiny.
