Celebrating 25 Years of Excellence in Intercollegiate Athletics
For more than 25 years, Barry University has been educating student athletes who excel, not only in their sport of choice, but also in classrooms, in laboratories, and in the communities where they give back. Barry’s formula for intercollegiate athletics has produced winning teams and winning graduates who are thriving in the workplace as leaders in their chosen fields.
As part of our celebration of excellence, we are asking parents, alumni and friends of Barry’s athletic programs to recognize our first quarter century of excellence by making a gift to the BUC Club. Becoming a member of the BUC Club is a tangible way of demonstrating your support for our winning Barry athletes and their continuing stretch for excellence in the classroom as well as on the courts and playing fields.
Barry athletes hail from 25 states and more than 20 countries around the world. This diverse group of athletes has produced 6 NCAA Women of the Year finalists – more than any other NCAA Division II school and the 2nd overall from all NCAA divisions. Barry has produced 189 Scholar All-Americans in the last 25 years. And we have two NCAA Byers Scholarship Winners; we are one of only three universities in the country to achieve this distinction.
These statistics are living proof, as are the voices of our athletes and former student athletes, that Barry’s Intercollegiate Athletics program is launching successful lives, providing a values-centered learning experience on the playing fields as well as in the classroom. In this economy many universities are being forced to cut athletics programs and services. At Barry, we are striving to build our programs, services and facilities to pave the way for another quarter-century of excellence.
