Women's Soccer Team Summary, 2002-2003

(18-1-0; 12-0-0 SSC; 1st)

  • Team won its fourth straight SSC championship and won its 32nd straight conference match
  • Team tied school record with 18 straight wins to start the season
  • Bucs reached the NCAA Tournament for the 15th time in 16 years, extending their own NCAA record
  • Bucs advanced to the Regional final for the 8th straight year
  • Pam McDonald sets a school career record with 39 assists
  • McDonald, Kassy Slattery, Johanna Fischer and Emelie Karlsson earned All-America honors
  • McDonald, Slattery, Fischer, Karlsson, Britt Miazgowicz and Tiina Saario named to the NSCAA All-South Region first-team, Tammie Thornton made second team
  • McDonald, Slattery, Fischer, Karlsson and Miazgowicz were first-team All-SSC; Saario, Thornton and Lauren Rodriguez earned second team
  • Karlsson was named SSC Offensive Player of the Year, Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year
  • Kyllene Carter-Weiss was named SSC Coach of the Year and NSCAA South Region Coach of the Year
  • Pam McDonald earned a 4.0 GPA in the Spring
