Jennifer Shannon finished her soccer career at
Barry as one of the all-time top athletes to ever attend the school.
When her career was over, Shannon ranked first in career points,
career goals scored, career assists, and career game-winning goals.
Shannon's 1992 season was one for the books, when she recorded the
Barry single-season records for points (44) and assists (14). Shannon's
efforts were part of four tremendous years for Barry soccer, as
the team won National Championships in 1989 and 1992.
On a national scale, Shannon was recognized as
an All-American in 1991 and 1992. Shannon scored the game-winning
goal in Barry's 3-2 National Championship victory over Adelphi University,
a feat which earned her 1992 Offensive MVP honors for the NCAA Division
II Tournament. |
