LeeAnne Craft

LeeAnne Craft was the first NCAA All-American
for softball in Barry history. The native of Rosselle, Illinois.
was a unanimous selection as a third baseman her senior year. She
began her career at the U.S. Military Academy in West Point, New
York, and then transferred to Barry. During her one season, she
established school records for batting average (.427), a mark that
is still the second best in Barry history. She also established
the mark for doubles (11) which was broken several years later.
Arguably the best third baseman ever for the Buccaneers, Craft was
also All-Region, All-Sunshine State Conference and was named to
the SSC All-Academic Team in 1992.
Following her graduation, she remained at Barry
for three seasons as assistant coach and was an integral part of
the 1994 team that reached the NCAA finals. She also served as strength
coach for the softball squad. Craft earned a master's degree in
Barry's Physical Therapy program in 1995, and is currently a physical
therapist in San Francisco. |
