Kertria Pamela Lofton
Women's Basketball BS, Criminal Justice, 1994

Kertria Lofton put Barry women's basketball on the national map with her incredible play as a point guard in 1990-91, when the Buccaneers won the Sunshine State Conference regular season and post-season tournament titles. Barry was 26-4 and a perfect 12-0 in SSC play in 1991. Lofton was voted AWSF All-American in 1989-90 and 1990-91. She also was the SSC's Player-of-the-Year, NCAA All-West All-Tournament, and All-SSC All-Tournament in 1991. Lofton was voted Barry's Athlete-of-the-Year in 1990-91. She ranks in the top five in ten Barry career categories despite playing only two seasons. She is the all-time leader in three-point field goal percentage at .341. The native of Fort Lauderdale, Florida holds single season records for assists (279) and steals (153). Currently the assistant women's basketball coach at Division I Florida International University, Lofton was an assistant for three years at Lynn University, where she is completing a master's degree. Still a competitive player, Lofton was an alternate for the WNBA World Champion Houston Comets this past year.
