Women’s Soccer
MS, Electronic Communication, 2000
Jenny Nilsson is one of the top players in the illustrious history of the Barry women’s soccer program. She holds school records with 158 points, 61 goals and 14 game-winning goals. In addition, all of her records are also Sunshine State Conference marks. Amazingly, she set her marks in only three years after transferring from Broward Community College.
She led the Bucs to SSC titles in 1999 and 2000, earning All-Conference honors both years and conference co-player of the year in 1999. In addition, she led the Bucs to the NCAA Division II Final Four in both years as Barry became the first site to host both men’s and women’s finals in the same season.
As a senior, she had one of the best seasons ever at Barry, scoring a school-record 25 goals and adding 12 assists.
More than just an outstanding player, she was also named to the CoSIDA Academic All-America team in 2000. She spent her time wisely at Barry, earning both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees. |
