SEARCY, Ark.—The 11th-ranked Barry University Buccaneers (6-0-0) scrapped out a 1-0 victory over host Harding University (0-3-0) to continue their hot start to the 2005 season.
Pat Anderson scored the game winner on a header off a cross from Stefan Tangen to put the Buccaneers up in the 76th minute. That goal marked Anderson’s fifth on the season, tops on the team. He has recorded a goal or assist in five of six games this season, including a goal in three straight games.
Chris Rich recorded his third shutout of the season with six saves in the winning effort. Ryan Hamilton put in a yeoman’s effort between the sticks for the Bisons, making 14 saves to keep Harding in the game.
The Buccaneers will be in action again on Sunday, Sept. 18 when they visit the University of Central Arkansas in Conway, Ark. Kickoff is scheduled for noon.
