BOCA RATON—After finding themselves in an early 2-0 hole, the Barry men’s soccer team came up short with a 2-1 loss to Christian Brothers on Friday at the home of Lynn University.
Barry junior Andres Perez scored the lone goal for the Barry Bucs at the 11:24 minute mark. Perez’s goal is his first of the season. The assist came from junior Sascha Koettig giving Koettig two assists on the year.
The two Christian Brothers goals came a mere 0:19 seconds apart. The first off a corner kick that Barry failed to clear at the 7:01 mark and the second off a long pass lobbed over the defense at the 7:20 mark.
Barry outshot Christian Brothers by a margin of 23 to 7. Barry also had a total of 15 corner kicks for the match but was unable to capitalize on any. The Buccaneers of Barry only gave up one shot in the second period.
The next action for the Barry men’s soccer team is Sunday back in Boca Raton against Webber. The game is scheduled to start at 3 p.m. back at Lynn’s McCuster Sportplex.
