Brett Rossi Earns "Golden Glove" Honors

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – Senior Brett Rossi has been named to the 2008 South Region Rawlings Gold Glove Team at third base. Rossi becomes the second straight Buccaneer to earn “Golden Glove” honors after Nick Shaw earned the award in 2007.
 
Rossi was named to the second annual Rawlings South Region Golden Glove team at third base in his final year at Barry. He was third on the Buccaneer squad with 95 assists and committed just nine errors after playing in 48 of the Bucs’ 51 games this season. He compiled a .941 fielding percentage and averaged just under three plays per nine innings.
 
Rossi also hit .304 for the season and was tied for the team lead with 15 stolen bases on 20 attempts. In 47 starts, he scored 35 runs and drove in 24, while leading the team with six sacrifice hits.
