MIAMI SHORES, Fla.— The Barry University volleyball team begins the second half of conference play this week, traveling to Nova tomorrow at 7:00 pm, and hosting Saint Leo on Friday night.

The Bucs (11-8, 2-6 SSC) got out to a good start this year, going 7-1 prior to the start of SSC competition. Since that time, Barry has gone 4-7 overall and 2-6 in conference play.

Last season, the Bucs split the majority of their conference matches, taking wins from Rollins, Eckerd, Tampa, Lynn, and Nova. The Bucs earned a 5-11 conference record last year, and narrowly missed out on the regional tournament.

“The SSC games will be tough because from third through ninth everybody is within two victories of each other,” head coach Frederico Santos said. “The team that comes out determined and has a consistent second half is going to make it to the NCAA tournament.”

The Bucs beat Nova 3-1 (25-23, 25-21, 16-25, 25-12) earlier this season, and will look to do so again tomorrow night.
