MIAMI BEACH, Fla. -- The Barry University rowing team defeated Rochester in their second dual race of the spring at Indian Creek on Miami Beach on Saturday morning.
In the 2000 meter varsity 8 event, the Buccaneers (Caitlin McGown, coxswain; Linsey Bierschbach, stroke; Lyndsay Edmonds, Libby Lowe, Hayley Robinson, Robin Cascioli, Meg Denholm, Jovana Djukic, and, Angelique Ceccon, bow) topped Rochester by 0:21.2 seconds. Barry finished with a time of 7:30.6, while the opposition finished at 7:51.8.
In the varsity 4 race, Barry came out victorious by a 0:13.05 second margin. The Buccaneers (Ivana Fredotovic, coxswain; Amy Grosshandler, stroke; Lina Mizerek, Elise Carlson, and Gurnoor Kang, bow). finished with a time of 8:43.05 and Rochester finished second with a time of 8:56.0.
The Buccaneers will return to action on Saturday, Apr. 1 with another dual race against Drexel and Miami at the newly developed Krome Quarry in Miami, Fla.
