Chris Brown joins the Barry University Athletic Training staff as the assistant athletic trainer and clinical instructor. He comes to Barry from George Washington University in Washington, D.C., where he earned a master's degree in clinical exercise psychology. While at GWU, he worked with the softball, tennis, and cheerleading teams. He completed his master's thesis on eating disorder risk in collegiate athletics.
He received his undergraduate degree in Athletic Training from Wingate University in North Carolina. With the Bulldogs, he worked with the baseball, volleyball, football, and men's soccer teams.
He is a member National Athletic Trainer's Association (NATA) and is a Red Cross Instructor. During the summer he provides medical coverage for the Universal Cheerleaders Association and the Universal Dance Association. His research interests include: "Immediate application of cold on acute injuries and its impact on overall healing time," and "Eating disorder risk in collegiate athletics and impact of injury on thermo-regulation."
