Assistant Coach

Cesar Aranguren joins the staff this season after completing an all-star career with the Bucs over the last four seasons.

He holds the school records with 214 games played, 808 at bats, 272 hits, 190 RBI and 395 total bases. He also ranks second with 31 hit-by-pitch, third with 172 runs, fifth with 46 doubles and 23 homers and sixth with 101 walks. During his four seasons, the Bucs went 119-98-1.

One of his career highlights came on the last day of the season in 2004 when he blasted a walk-off three-run homer to lift the Bucs over Eckerd 7-6 to end the season on a winning note. He also compiled a 33-game hitting streak which ranks as the fourth-longest streak in SSC history.

He will work with the Buccaneer infielders, catchers and hitters. He completed the undergraduate portion of his degree in sport management in May 2006 and is working on his master’s degree as part of the university’s seamless program.
