Brett Rossi enters his first-season as a member of the Buccaneer coaching staff and will be in charge of the infield and baserunning after completing a four-year playing career with the Bucs.
Rossi played in 160 games and started 137 games during that time, mostly at third base and second base. Rossi became a fixture in the Bucs’ lineup during his sophomore season, when he tallied a career-high .333 batting average in 36 games, while also recording his two career home runs. For his career, Rossi batted .298, scored 121 runs, tallied 150 hits, 12 doubles, 71 RBI, 57 walks, 41 steals and a .390 on-base percentage.
Rossi was honored for his fielding efforts during the 2008 season at third base, as he was named to the 2008 South Region Rawlings Gold Glove Team.
A native of Ringoes, N.J., Rossi is currently in the process of getting his master’s degree in sport management here at Barry.
