ROME, Ga. – Barry University’s baseball team defeated Shorter  Sunday afternoon, 5-2, in a game halted by rain in the sixth inning.

Joeanthony Rivera took the mound for the Buccaneers on a cold, rainy afternoon in Georgia but managed to maintain a grip of the ball and the game in route to the five-inning victory.

Tyler Kellmann led the Buccaneer offense going 1-for-2 with 2 RBI. Adrian English extend his hit-streak to six straight with an RBI single through the right side in the third inning.

The Hawks (0-7) struggled to score against Buccaneer pitchers throughout the series as they were limited to four runs throughout the three-game set.

Barry heads back to Miami Shores where they’ll host Palm Beach Atlantic on Tuesday evening.

First pitch is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. with video broadcast and live-stats available through the Barry University athletics website, GOBARRYBUCS.COM.
