Nick Zambrotta enters his second year as a member of the Barry coaching staff and will be responsible for helping with the pitchers and infielders.
Zambrotta, a Rhode Island native, played two years at Sunshine State Conference rival Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Fla., before transferring to Salve Regina University in Newport, R.I. While at Salve, he helped lead the Seahawks to a school-record 32 wins in 2006 and was named All-Commonwealth Coast Conference. He graduated from Salve in 2008 with a degree in psychology.
In 2009, Nick went on to coach and play professionally in Europe, specifically in Austria for the Schwaz Tigers of the Austrian Baseball League. While playing and coaching for the Tigers, Nick led the team to their first championship series appearance in ten years and qualified the team for the Euro Cup. Upon returning from Europe, Zambrotta continued his coaching career at the high school and American Legion levels in Rhode Island.
Currently, Nick is pursuing a master’s degree in sport and exercise psychology at Barry. He also serves as a graduate assistant in the Campus Recreation and Wellness department at Barry.
