Bucs Rowing 4th in NCAA Semifinals

WEST WINDSOR, N.J. -- Barry University's varsity 8 crew finished fourth in the repechage round of the NCAA Division II Championships Saturday at Lake Mercer.

The Buccaneers 8+ crew of coxswain Grace Horwitz, stroke Kristina Boncheva, Kelly Harrison, Renee Forcier, Kasia Walentynowicz, Mandy Carper, Helene Pierre, Courtney Greene and Rebekah Kilroy finished the 2,000-meter course in 7:07.60 in the semifinals.

Mercyhurst posted the top time in the race in 6:49.38. Western Washington was second in 6:49.63, roughly a second ahead of third place Central Oklahoma, who finished in 7:19.27.

The Bucs will race in the Petite Final Sunday at 9:15 a.m. against Central Oklahoma for fifth and sixth place.
